And She's Back!!

I believe many have been a little quiet on blogs lately...

I am back, for a few reasons. One of which is my mom, who likes to see what we are up to here in New Jersey, while she is off on Enchanted Island for the summer...

Tomorrow I will have my Brownie troop over to work on their first badge. Shhhhh they don't know the 'work' part yet LOL. We will be making our Sit-Upons! Ahhhh I remember making my own Sit-Upon, or should I say, I remember my dad making it... My Dad, in true US Coast Guard fashion, took over and made a beautiful Sit-Upon. I can say that now, but back then I wanted the same newspaper stuffed in a bag Sit-Upon that all the girls had. I'm not sure where that Sit-Upon ended up, probably sold at a yard sale before one of our many military moves. But I can see it plain and clear in my memory.

Yesterday I had a quick meeting with my GS mentor. Soooo many trips/camping/project possibilities!! In a way it made my head spin! I hope I can fit it all in, and that the girls have a great year!!

Dead Battery...

Why is it that the battery on my Sienna will die either when I have to pick up the kids at dismissal time? (it has only done this twice, but both times at an inopportune time) Or this morning when I need to drive the H.S. Freshman over a mile away to catch the bus that has been coming by a whole 10 minutes early the past few weeks? Yes, this morning, dog in the car, son coming into the garage and I turn the key and N-O-T-H-I-N-G!!!!

ACK!! I look over and DH's car is there!!! Not a normal occurrence.... as DH is away on business, thankfully home this afternoon...

On with my story... so I try to get Cooper into the Mini Cooper (Ha that sounds funny) and he won't budge. DS tries to help, but only spooks poor Coops, as DS's backpack fell onto him... In a panic, I told DS to get into the car and we would leave Cooper in the garage. I zoomed to the bus stop, dropped DS off and ran back home. As I was driving home, I began to run through a series of possibilities... did Cooper run off after the car, and we just didn't see him? Did he get into something in the garage and will he be ill the rest of the day... did he run out after a deer? As I drove into the neighborhood I regretted my quick decision to just leave him in the garage.... WHAT WOULD I FIND WHEN I OPENED THE DOOR???????

Good, the garage door was closed, so Cooper didn't trip it as it closed... as I opened the door, I see the BEST thing in the whole world.... Cooper sitting proudly, with his beautiful chest puffed out as Dobies do best... sitting right.in.front.of where we park the Mini-Cooper...

My Sweet Little Baby Boy!!!!!!!!! What a GOOD boy!!!!! and was he happy to see me!!!!!

Thank you Coops for being a good boy!!!!!!

On a roll...

Miss M outgrew her socks that I knit for her a while back... she loved the colors, and when I saw a Patons yarn (Winter Eclipse colorway)that matched to old outgrown socks I thought that they would be perfect for another pair for my sweet little girl. They are almost to the toe, I am knitting them at the same time, knitting on one then switching to the other, both on DPNs. Miss M is home today, a little under the weather... so she will have a nice little surprise later when I finish them... she is a pleasure to knit for, she dances around and is beyond excited when she gets something hand-knit.

Just one more thing I LOVE about knitting, I can relax, entertaining myself, playing with sticks and string and make something useful... yes, I loved doing cross-stitch... but how many cross-stitch projects do I want hanging on the wall? Especially, given that we are a bit on the minimalist side of decorating....

Why did I wait so long?

For Christmas 2008 I made a mini pair of Fetchings for my daughter, Miss M. A few weeks later our brand new puppy Cooper got one of those mitts and had a few playful chomps and basically destroyed the mitt. It really wasn't able to be fixed. I knew that the best thing to do was to re-knit the one mitt. Only a little over a year later, do I get to it... sigh... why did I wait so long? I'm not sure... but I am so happy that I took care of it yesterday, all while watching 13 Going on 30...

Done, all DONE!!!!!

Color me HAPPY!!

Hello!

I have been neglecting my blog lately... I'm sure that having Cooper come into our family was a major part of the reason. It's too difficult to ignore that sweet little face, that soft little muzzle, that little playful bark he gives me. "Come on Mom, PLAY!!!!"

I'd like to get back to blogging, both writing my blog posts and reading my favorite blogs. I have been reading some of the same posts on some of the blogs I read, so I know that I am not the only one. Sometimes shifts in our priorities must take place... if my family needs me, the blog gets put aside... I'd like to come back. I miss my blog and my bloggy friends!

Happy New Year!!

Honey, I'll be a little late tonight!

My Dearest Husband... how I love him! He gave me some great news!!
He has been traveling a bit to Philadelphia, in trying to find a fast, traffic free route he passes by the Princeton area (sob... our old stomping grounds) and drives past.... The Woolly Lamb in Pennington!!!! I told him that if he ever wanted to stop in a do a little shopping... I wouldn't mind him coming home a bit late! :)

I would link to it, but it seems that their site is not working.... I wonder if they know??
