We are now home, and we fully understand the saying, "Home Sweet Home".
We left NJ in June, and returned last night. We are tanned, rested, bi-lingual, and reconnected with our family from Sardinia, Italy. A grand trip to be sure.
My parents have a place in Sardinia, we stayed with them for the summer. We had beach days, hikes, picnics, and day trips galore. History: my mom and dad met in the early 60's while my father was in the Coast Guard. They married in 1965, and made their home in the US. I have been going back and forth to Sardinia all my life. It is a beautiful, wonderful place. I feel so blessed to have been able to share with my children, a part of childhood experiences that I had. It was fun to show off my children to my family, and to friends of my parents. The kids had a ball going to the beach, seeing fish, building in the sand and baking in the sun.
I had promised myself that I was going to blog consistently, but alas it was not to be. The Internet was on and off while we were there... and it was frustrating to say the least. I went days without going on-line... did I miss it? A bit, what I missed more was keeping up with my Blog Friends... I hope that no one felt that I was ignoring them... I will be catching up with you all soon!!

Welcome home!! What a wonderful summer you have had!!! I have to admit I am a wee bit jealous!!! Looking forward to having you back!
Ahhhh - the good life. It sounds like a wonderful experience for the whole family - grandparents, parents and kids. Welcome back. I hope everyone makes a smooth adjustment to back-to-school.
Giving up internet access is a small price to pay for the experience you and the kids had all summer. What a glorious way to spend their time off. Welcome home!
