Musings...

Musing Number 1

I have no patience for shopping in those trendy, hip, shops where the music is blasting, and the lighting is so dim, that you feel like you are in someones house, and you are a catburglar... one name similar to Hollerin', the other twins Aber crow bee and pitch.... yes, I dislike your choice of layout and For Pete's Sake... buy a lightbulb, or heck go crazy... buy a boatload and light up the place. Miss J *had* to get a pair of jeans, I should have scooted into Eddie Boring and got one of those nifty headlamps... then we could have actually *seen* how the jeans fit!

I looked at my dear husband and said, "we must be getting old, because this place is making me ill"... not sure if he heard me though for the loud pumping music...

Musing Number 2

Monday: We wake up, I get the kids up and out of the house, I come home, I clean, the kids come home, the house is a mess, we go to bed... after 8pm I do not clean, I'm spent.

Tuesday: We wake up, I get the kids up and out of the house, I come home, I clean, the kids come home, the house is a mess, we go to bed... after 8pm I do not clean, I'm spent.

Wednesday: We wake up, I get the kids up and out of the house, I come home, I clean, the kids come home, the house is a mess, we go to bed... after 8pm I do not clean, I'm spent.

Thursday: We wake up, I get the kids up and out of the house, I come home, I clean, the kids come home, the house is a mess, we go to bed... after 8pm I do not clean, I'm spent.

Friday We wake up, I get the kids up and out of the house, I come home, I clean, the kids come home, the house is a mess, we go to bed... after 8pm I do not clean, I'm spent.

Feels like that movie Groundhog Day... then if I ask my 5 year old to get her socks I get, "Why can't you do it, Why do *I* have to do everything?!?!"

Saturday: We clean up a bit, tend to things to do on our calendar... and do what we can...

Sunday: Church and I try to not do house work on Sunday... only if it is extremely necessary...like we are out of knickers... oooo sca-ry...

I get depressed when I realize that the house only stays clean of the kids are not in it. Yes, we have a home, not a museum, yes, I love it when we are all home together, and the kids are happy and creating... but gee, tell me it will get better... This morning I found the cereal box full of staples...HUH?? things like this make me look forward to going to the old folks home...

Musing Number 3

After my fun bout with Diverticulitis... coffee no longer has that magical taste to me. It makes me sad... I keep trying, it feels not so magical, and warm and cozy in my tummy...

Thankfully tea and I have a nice relationship, it just does not have that warm pleasant smell that coffee has. Maybe I'll drink my tea and sniff my coffee beans.

Make it a great day today, whatever you are doing...

I must be old, too because I cannot stand those stores. I stay out if I can help it. And I think it gets better as far as housework goes. I clean on Saturday. The girls tend to spend most of their time in their rooms so the rest of the hose stays fairly neat. There's no television for everyone to congregate in front of so that keeps the living room neat. I make the most mess in there when I pull out the spinning wheel.

Every night I tell myself, "Tomorrow I'll be more patient with the kids," and every day, I follow them around cleaning up messes until I finally yell. It's an endless cycle. Today I "helped" my older son clean his room (we never did find the source of that sour milk smell, which is sort of scary), and he spent the entire time complaining and doing precious little else, until, naturally, I yelled at him. And then he complained to my husband about how hard I made him work. Aargh.
