Seven Sisters & Watermelon Socks

Our piano teacher's husband gave us this rose, known as Seven Sisters. Mrs. Piano was telling me that the plant is many, many years old... the smell is so sweet and delicate. And the color is amazing! We were told that the petals would most likely fall off the flower by the time we got home. It's four hours later and the flower is still intact. Did I mention the wonderful smell? Mmmmmm
Today at piano lessons, Mrs. Piano was explaining a song to her... Sarasponda... Now I knew that the name sounded familiar... as Donna has given that name to her spinning wheel (different spelling)... but did I ever put 2 and 2 together???? Nooooooooo.

Miss J's socks are FINISHED!!!!!!!!! She is so sweet, and is my biggest knitting cheerleader... she put them on and told me that they are "SOOOO COMFORTABLE!!!"

So here are her Shortie Socks. Neon Watermelon hand dyed by Shelly Kang. Miss M also has a pair from this skein. Miss J designed these socks. I guess now Master E will be sending in his request for his second pair of socks.... OY... 80 cast on stitches... 80 people. The kid is bigger than me!!

Time to get the kids off to bed... they aren't tired, but Momma is....

Every time I sit and spin, I sing that song in my head. Drives me crazy. I have a wonderful book filled with folk songs and that was one of the girls' favorites. They sang it all the time. For some reason, it reminded me of spinning.
I love the watermelon socks! Cute, colorful and short. Perfect for summer.

The watermelon socks are so super cute!

I made a pair of socks for my DH for Christmas... Mens 13! And he put a hole in the toe in one month. It was like a knitting needle to the heart. Luckily it was fixable - whew - and he really does love them (he would be in trouble if he didn't) so it was time well knit. :)
