Stocking up, yep, that's what I'm doing... stocking up!

Yesterday, after a 3-day stomach ache, then a school vacation day, I ran away from home. On our way to school, I calmly told the three kiddos, that I would see them at school at 3pm for Choir practice, but that I'd be running away from home during the day.

Where did I go do you ask? To heaven... um I mean yarn shopping. First stop Modern Yarn in Montclair. They recently have gotten in Koigu... and let me tell you the stuff is beauti-ous!!!!

I fell hard people, I fell hard.... I got some lovely Koigu and some Noro sock yarn. Yes, the yarn is a bit rough, but I LOVE the colors!!!! LOVE them I tell you!!!!!! Reports are that the yarn softens up after washing. These colors just make me swooooooooon.

Just take a look at my treasures....
In my defense, my Dear Husband, if you are reading this.... I am preparing for the long lean summer. You know what I mean... where the kids and I shall be exiled to a lovely land, but a land that is cruel and cold to the Dollar holding resident... where it takes for-ever to go and do anything.... I'm like the squirrel, foraging and taking in as much as I can for the lean, cold and cruel time ahead.... ooooooooooo

The Regia Silk in brown is from Stix-n-Stitches, also in Montclair. I love their new space. This yarn will be knit up into a cute little bear... yes, for me.... :) I fell in love with the Classic Teddy Bear by Mary Ann Gebhardt from the Holiday 2007 Interweave Knits Magazine. He's just scrummy, that's scrumptious and yummy smooshed together....

I may have knit up a few more mini mittens. I have another one, but it went missing... I suspect my little-est DD may have run off with it... can't blame her...

Nowm I am off to Panera Bread to meet my Purl Gurls, to knit and chat... and drink come coffee...

OMGoodness, isn't the yarn beautiful???

Lovely spoils! Next time you run away from home, give me a little lead time and I will too. It sounds like a dream

Isn't that Noro the coolest stuff you've ever seen? I even have four skeins of the stuff.

Check out the Flat Feet link on my blog. That stuff is too cool.

You may now begin the countdown. (big grin) I won't tell you how many days, but start getting your "enter" finger ready. :)

Oh... and how in the hell do you knit up those miniatures? They drive me nuts to make!

What a lovely day. And it is really very prudent of you to stock up for the lean times. It's a wise and sensible thing to do. The yarns are gorgeous. We have a lys that carries koigu but the shop is not user friendly. They are snobbish and not at all fun. I try to avoid them so i have to order all my special yarns online. That's ok, I like to get mail.
