Today DD1 is sick with the Flu... so I am missing my beloved knitting group - Purl Gurls. Today is also the birthday of one of my PG... and her father is in the hospital ill. It weighs heavy on my heart, because PG A is a real gem of a lady. So here I sit, with DD1 watching HGTV, and me starting my first entry on my Blog. I managed to begin a square for my afghan, called Waterfall, from my perpetual knitting calendar... I LOVE the stitch!! I am replacing some of the squares from my Knitting Class. I just don't feel like having garter stitch squares in my afghan... KWIM? I am thrilled that after years of knitting garter and stockinette, that I can now read patterns and can do some wonderful stitches... so no way am I having some boring squares in my afghan... I already had "problems" with the fact that *I* would be knitting an afghan... I pictured it adding 30 years to my face... I'd wake up looking like a granny... Love my grannies, but am not ready to be one - for a looong time!! I am also working on Chunky Cables... a sweater for a second class that I took. It's causing some anxiety... I wish that I could knit with my Purl Gurls.... they are ahead of me. They are both retired (or semi) and no kids living at home... so their time is more their own... and I seem to need complete quiet and no one yelling that they need something from me... quite impossible with the 3 children that DH and I have... off to knit some more...my waterfall square... not the sweater... I'm afraid - very afraid....


Before I forget...
... I want to write down some Knitting Goals for the next few months... to keep me on track. I want to finish my afghan. Putting in only squares that I like to look at, and that I enjoyed knitting. I want for the afghan to remind me of the fun I had in class and to remind me of my gumption to put in a few squares that I taught myself... I am such a "follow the rules" girl... and this shows that I am breakin' the rules baby!! Living life on the edge, I am... Oooooo danger!! LOL I want to finish my Chunky Cables... and wear it!! I want to learn to knit socks. DH asks why... well, they are cute, I hear that they are very comfy, and I would like to make some quick useful projects for my family. I also find that having a small portable little project a comfort... even if I don't take it out.. *I* know that I have it... and it makes me feel good. My square is calling... I'll add more later... I hope to post some pictures soon... especially Waterfall...
